Joseph K. Naneville: Comfortable Futon Mattress

This futon mattress is fairly comfortable. We use it solely for sitting on. The mattress has two sides, one is soft and the other firm. It is not as cushy soft as I would have hoped, but overall it is a good futon mattress with one minor flaw When the mattress is placed with the soft side up in the sitting position there is a lump all the way across where it folds, right in the middle, as noted by Magaly in one of the answered questions in 2015. Some may like this as lumbar support but to me it is a bit annoying. When the mattress is flipped to the firm side this lump does not exist. On the firm side the mattress is fairly comfortable and more aesthetically pleasing. Shipping is a little pricey because the box is big, but the mattress arrives quickly. When the mattress box is open the mattress expands to full size fast and has no chemical smell. This mattress is well constructed. It fills out a full size futon cover nicely as you can see from the attached photo and one is required if you plan to use it primarily as a futon couch.
