the top does not screw into the pole. the screw portion is too short and small so it just does not even begin to fit. if i balance it just so, i could tell it would be a cute lamp. However, that obviously is not going to work, i will try to fix it but will likely return it.

I bought this couch a year ago and it is holding up really well as far as the cushions not losing their firmness....especially since we do a lot of sitting and napping on this thing. It is a nice looking couch, light, and easy to assemble. However, the freaking butt cushions don't stay on the thing. The slightest move causes them to come unstuck to the velcro and you eventually find yourself sitting on the springs of the couch. It happens constantly and because of this reason we're upgrading.
